Applicants must have received a valid IDNYC card in order to apply for a free membership at Juilliard. All IDNYC cardholders ages 18 and older may apply. If your IDNYC card has recently expired, you may renew your card online here.

Free IDNYC Juilliard memberships are not available to current members or to individuals whose Juilliard membership, or spouse's membership, has lapsed since January 1, 2018. Households that have previously held an annual IDNYC complimentary membership within the last five years will not be granted additional free membership/s.

What is IDNYC?
IDNYC is a government-issued photo identification card. IDNYC will secure the peace of mind and access to New York City services that come from having recognized identification. As an added benefit of enrollment, an IDNYC card entitles residents to complimentary benefits at various cultural institutions in New York City.

Who can obtain an IDNYC card?
All New York City residents. IDNYC benefits every city resident, including those in the most vulnerable communities: the homeless, youth, the elderly, undocumented immigrants, the formerly incarcerated, and others who may have difficulty obtaining other government-issued ID.

What is the cost of an IDNYC card?
All IDNYC cards are free.

What does Juilliard offer IDNYC card holders?
Juilliard is offering IDNYC card holders a free membership for one year at a level similar to Supporter ($100 value) in the Juilliard Association. Please note, however, that Juilliard’s offer of a free membership is limited to one per household; there are no exceptions.

  • Personalized membership card
  • 20 percent discount on tickets to select paid performances, while supply lasts
  • 10 percent discount at the Juilliard Store (excludes textbooks)

Invitation to the Juilliard Extension Division open house, when offered, to find out about upcoming continuing education courses

Policies

Membership

  • Juilliard Memberships may only be shared with one (1) other person within the same household.
  • Invitations to Juilliard Membership events are non-transferrable. Members are allowed to bring one (1) guest to Membership events, for a total of two (2) attendees. Requests for additional guests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability.
  • Contributions received from Foundations or Donor Advised Funds (‘DAF’) cannot be used towards memberships that incur a more than incidental benefit. Because the original contribution made to the Foundation or DAF provided the maximum tax deduction, the Foundation or DAF cannot receive any benefits that would change the value of the tax deduction. However, the donor-advisor can receive benefits that have insubstantial or no fair market value. Waiving the benefits associated with a membership will ensure no benefits of fair market value are received. Contact your financial advisor with questions about how these policies may affect your giving through a Foundation or DAF.

Member Tickets

  • Juilliard Members may purchase tickets to Juilliard events through the online Juilliard Ticket Portal or in person at the Juilliard Box Office. Tickets purchased online for Juilliard performances in the Irene Diamond building are subject to a $3 handling fee, which is waived for members at the $250 level and higher.
  • For most Juilliard ticketed events, qualifying members may purchase up to two (2) tickets per performance or production at the 50% membership discount. On occasion, qualifying members may purchase up to four (4) tickets per performance at the 50% membership discount, subject to availability.
  • Juilliard Members may not use their membership to purchase discounted tickets on behalf of non-members.
  • All ticket sales are final and no refunds will be available. In some cases, tickets may be exchanged for a different date of the same event within the same production run (i.e. exchange a New Dances ticket for a different evening within the New Dances series), subject to availability. Juilliard members may do so in person at the Juilliard Box Office. Juilliard members may also call the Patrons’ Desk for assistance with this type of exchange.
  • If a member cannot attend a performance, tickets may be donated back to The Juilliard School. This may be done in person at the Juilliard Box Office or members may contact the Patrons’ Desk. There are no refunds.
  • All Juilliard audience members are expected to be courteous and exercise appropriate behavior when attending Juilliard events. Any audience member who is in violation of appropriate behavior may receive a warning from Juilliard before further action is taken.
