Juilliard offers a number of excellent learning opportunities for artists at any skill level during the summer months.
Summer Music Theory and Ear Training
The program will occur online in 2021. These college-level courses are intended for advanced high-school-age musicians ages 14-18 who are interested in deepening their music theory and musicianship skills, gaining college credit, or preparing for advanced placement or college placement exams.
2021 Summer Series
This program will occur online in 2021. This summer, the Evening Division is offering new ways to learn about and participate in the performing arts while experiencing live courses online with world class faculty. The Juilliard 2021 Summer Series will fill the summer months with many exciting short courses and lectures for adults of all ages and abilities.
Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard at Nord Anglia Schools
The program will occur online in 2021. Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard offers immersive programs for performing artists ages 10-18. Under the direction of Juilliard artist faculty, students from around the world cultivate their skills and creative talents in dance, drama, and music. Our programs offer unique experiences such as private lessons, artistic collaboration, masterclasses, seminars, and performances in dance, drama, piano, strings, and voice.
Juilliard Summer Winds
The program will occur online in 2021. Juilliard Summer Winds is a program for advanced high school instrumentalists who play flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon. During two intensive weeks, participants will experience an exciting range of master classes, clinics, lectures, rehearsals, and performances led by Juilliard college faculty as well as many of today’s most prominent woodwind and horn teachers and performers.
Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies
The program will occur online in 2021. The biennial Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies is dedicated to fostering the legacy of the renowned teacher, Dorothy DeLay, and features pre-eminent artist-faculty teaching pedagogy, leading master classes, and performing in recitals. This year’s Symposium will be presented as a 4-day online seminar in collaboration with the Juilliard Evening Division as part of their 2021 Summer Series.
Summer Percussion Master Class Series
The Juilliard Summer Percussion Master Class Series is a one-week ONLINE program designed to offer a rigorous learning environment for curious percussionists age 13 and above.
Juilliard Dance Online Experience 2021
The program will occur online in 2021. The Juilliard Dance Online Experience is a one-week program in ballet, modern, and contemporary dance techniques for advanced students who want a taste of what a Juilliard dance student's life is all about: refining technique and performance, broadening understanding of various dance styles, and making friends from all over the world.
Summer Percussion Seminar 2021
The program will occur online in 2021. Juilliard's Summer Percussion Seminar is designed specifically for advanced high-school percussionists. During two intensive weeks, participants will experience a challenging range of master classes, clinics, lectures, rehearsals, and performances led by some of today’s most prominent percussion teachers and performers.
Summer Professional Development
Juilliard is offering three virtual workshops for K–12 performing arts educators. Each series is co-facilitated by Juilliard faculty, staff, and guest presenters and is for teachers, teaching artists, and related professionals who are interested in developing their teaching or understanding of K–12 performing arts instruction.
Juilliard String Quartet Seminar
The 2020 program has been canceled. Each year The Juilliard School hosts a weeklong seminar to foster the artistic growth of pre-formed, pre-professional string quartets. Through intensive coaching and mentoring with members of the Juilliard String Quartet, as well as interaction with other participating quartets, students are able to refine their artistry in a stimulating artistic environment.
