Juilliard offers a number of excellent learning opportunities for musicians during the summer months, all designed to help shape the next generation of performing artists at any skill level.
Summer Dance Intensive
The Summer Dance Intensive is a three-week program in ballet, modern, and contemporary dance techniques for advanced students who want a taste of what a Juilliard dance student's life is all about: refining technique and performance, broadening understanding of various dance styles, experiencing New York City, and making friends from all over the world.
Summer Percussion Seminar
Juilliard's Summer Percussion Seminar is designed specifically for advanced high-school percussionists. During two intensive weeks in the exciting cultural environment of Lincoln Center, participants will experience a challenging range of master classes, clinics, lectures, rehearsals, and performances led by some of today’s most prominent percussion teachers and performers.
Juilliard String Quartet Seminar
Each year The Juilliard School hosts a weeklong seminar to foster the artistic growth of pre-formed, pre-professional string quartets. Through intensive coaching and mentoring with members of the Juilliard String Quartet, as well as interaction with other participating quartets, students are able to refine their artistry in a stimulating artistic environment.
Juilliard at the Piccola Accademia
Juilliard at the Piccola Accademia is a weeklong, full-scholarship, summer chamber music program for period instrumentalists in the Tuscan village of Montisi taught by members of the faculty of Juilliard Historical Performance.
Nord Anglia Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard
Open to students ages 10-18, from all nationalities and all levels of experience, Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard is an immersive experience enabling students to engage deeply in music, dance, or drama. The program is hosted by the Collège du Léman boarding school near Geneva, Switzerland.
Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies
The biennial Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies is dedicated to fostering the legacy of the renowned teacher, Dorothy DeLay, and features pre-eminent artist-faculty teaching pedagogy, leading master classes, and performing in recitals. The next symposium will be held in 2021.
