Charlotte Okie

Charlotte Okie, a Pennsylvania native, is a graduate of Oberlin College (B.A.) and the American Center for the Alexander Technique, where she received a teaching certificate. Okie has pursued post-graduate studies with master teachers including Judy Leibowitz, Patrick Macdonald, and Barbara Kent. Okie has been teaching in Juilliard’s Drama Division since 2008. Her other teaching experience includes Fairleigh Dickinson University, the American Center for the Alexander Technique, Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, Hong Kong University, and NYU Tisch School of the Arts. A Juilliard faculty member since 2014, she also maintains a private practice in Westchester County, where she lives with her husband John Tjia. They have two children.
