About

Tuba player Andrew Bove was born in Massapequa Park, N.Y., and has performed with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, New York Pops, New York City Ballet Orchestra, School of American Ballet Orchestra, Stamford Symphony, Westchester Philharmonic, Long Island Philharmonic, Phoenix Symphony, and in musicals on Broadway. He is a founding member of Extension Ensemble and was a winner of the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. He has done recording projects for CBS, NBC, the Discovery Channel, ESPN, Coca-Cola, AMC Theaters, Sony, Electronic Arts, and Paramount Pictures, as well as for the Summit, Albany, Centaur, EMI Virgin, and Hip-Bone Music labels. He has been a member of the faculty of Kean University since 2005, of Bar Harbor Brass Week since 2001, and was formerly on the music faculty at Sarah Lawrence College. He holds a BM from Northwestern University, has a MM degree from Juilliard, and had tuba studies with Rex Martin, Sam Pilafian, and Warren Deck. He joined Juilliard’s Pre-College faculty in 2010.
