Chamber Music


David Krauss joined the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra as principal trumpet in 2001. A native of Long Island, he studied with Wynton Marsalis and then went on to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Juilliard. In addition to Juilliard, he teaches at Manhattan School of Music, Mannes the New School, and Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts. In the summer, he performs and teaches at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute and Aspen Music Festival, and he is a co-director of Berkshire Summer Music, a program he and his wife, Kristen, founded and run together.
