About

Organist Matthew Lewis was born in Pittsfield, Mass. He is the organist and director of music at Church of the Incarnation (Episcopal) in New York City. He is assistant professor of organ (adjunct faculty) at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, Princeton, N.J. He is artistic director and conductor at St. George’s Choral Society in New York as well as organist and choirmaster at Temple Israel in Lawrence, N.Y. Lewis received his BM in organ and piano and a BS in theology from Philadelphia Biblical University. He received his MM and DMA (1995) in organ from Juilliard. He studied with Jon Gillock and on Fulbright and Annette Kade Grants studied in Paris with Marie-Madeleine Duruflé. Lewis has been a Pre-College faculty member since 1993.
