Vocal Arts faculty member Diane Richardson was born in River Falls, Wisc. She has been an assistant conductor with the Spoleto Festival USA since 1977 and was assistant conductor with the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy, from 1990-94. She was with the New York City Opera from 1973-85 and has been a vocal coach in N.Y.C. since 1962, at Oberlin Conservatory from 1971-72, and at the Santa Fe Opera Festival since 1997. Richardson is a faculty member at SUNY-Binghamton and Yale School of Music. She received her bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, her master’s degree from Teachers College at Columbia University, and further education at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Juilliard, and L’Università Per Stranieri in Perugia, Italy. Richardson has been a Juilliard faculty member since 1985.
