Art Williford

Art Williford is a pianist and educator from Houston, Texas.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Eastman before coming to NYC to study at Juilliard, where he earned his MM and DMA in Collaborative Piano.  As a CV Starr Doctoral Fellow, his dissertation on Charles Ives was awarded the French Prize.  He then joined the the faculty of Juilliard, where he currently teaches classes in Theory and Keyboard Skills.  Art has also taught classes in Music History, at Juilliard and NYU.  For Juilliard Extension, Art teaches Piano, Chamber Music, and Jazz Piano, as well as classes in Music History, often focusing on the world of film music and the life and works of Stephen Sondheim.
