Juilliard's Evening Division to Offer Summer Series of One-Day Intensives

Course Topics Range From Shakespeare to Bach, Stravinsky to Gershwin, and Include Musicals, Jazz, and Dance

NEW YORK –– Juilliard’s Evening Division announces a summer series of one-day intensives in history and appreciation with course topics ranging from Shakespeare to Bach, Stravinsky to Gershwin, and others that cover musicals, jazz, and dance. Classes will be offered throughout June, July, and August, and meet from 10am to 4pm. Some courses include a boxed lunch and others include a ticket to a performance at Lincoln Center, on Broadway, or in Central Park. Other courses have live, in-class performances by Juilliard students or faculty. Also, a two-week Reading Music Bootcamp will be offered in mid-August that is designed for those who have never learned to read music as well as those who need to brush-up.

Registrations are live at www.juilliard.edu/summerseries. A 10% discount will be offered for those who register by May 22.

  • The Beatles After the Beatles: 1970
  • Process in Progress: Choreography Behind the Scenes
  • Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night: Comedy on the Edge

About Juilliard’s Evening Division

Juilliard’s Evening Division offers classes for adults of all ages and abilities. Student range in age from 18 to 99, and they are doctors, lawyers, teachers, waiters, and writers, college students, and retirees. They are novices wanting to explore the performing arts and seasoned professionals seeking to expand their technical knowledge and skills. Some are already working in the arts – as performers, composers, and administrators. They all share a deep curiosity about and an abiding passion for the arts.

A wide array of stimulating courses are taught by a distinguished faculty of recognized experts in their fields - performers, composers, and scholars in dance, drama, and music. There are yearlong courses, one-day workshops, and everything in between. They all take place at Juilliard’s Lincoln Center campus in the heart of New York City’s cultural scene, where exhilarating performances are happening year-round, day and night. Juilliard’s Evening Division offers a unique environment where intellectual curiosity, artistic seriousness, and student camaraderie converge to make learning a joy.
