Senior bow

For graduating dancers, the culmination of their Juilliard performance career is the Senior Showcase concert. During the concert, each senior performs a solo or duet of their choosing. And then at the end the whole group performs what’s known as the Senior Bow. But it’s not just a bow—it’s a choreographed piece featuring the whole class. This year’s, titled Graduation Ball, was choreographed by alumnus Jonathan Emanuell Alsberry, and the theme was paparazzi. The choreography was set to music by Vivaldi and an electronic piece commissioned for the occasion. And then the teary, excited dancers were truly ready for those flashing lights.
