The Tianjin Juilliard School Slated to Open Fall 2020

Juilliard’s China presence is taking shape! Applications for The Tianjin Juilliard School Pre-College program, for musicians ages 8 to 18, are open now and due February 1. The website is live. And the faculty has been hired and is getting ready to start giving concerts, master classes, and recitals worldwide. The school’s building, with its state-of-the- art teaching and performing spaces, was designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the firm that master-minded Juilliard’s 2006-09 expansion. It's slated to open in the fall of 2020, when the first graduate students—in orchestral studies, chamber music, and collaborative piano—are scheduled to matriculate, pending approval by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
