Congratulations to Davóne Tines (MM ’13, voice), who’s been named one of Time magazine’s Next Generation Leaders. The recognition was based in part on bass-baritone Tines being the co-adaptor and star of The Black Clown, a category-resistant work inspired by a poem of the same name by Langston Hughes. The production premiered in 2018 at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge; this photo is from the performance at this summer’s Mostly Mozart Festival. Chanel DaSilva (BFA ’08, dance) was the choreographer and Zack Winokur (BFA ’12, dance) was the director.
